Hamsa charm necklace. This palm shaped charm represents a sign of protection. Extremely popular in the Middle East and Africa, this originated thousands of years ago. The open right hand shows an eye in the palm which is reputed to help ward off the Evil Eye. It represents blessings, power and strength.
This charm is made of 1/8 inch (3.5mm) thick birch ply, which has been laser cut for precise detailing. The charm has been stained with a light oak wood stain to highlight the natural wood grain. It has then been airbrushed with black acrylic paint to give definition to the engraving. Finally it has then been given a protective coating of natural shellac.
This measures 1 inch in diameter. It hangs from a black leather 1.2mm cord which measures approximately 26 inches in length. It is knotted and easily slips on over your head, which requires no clasp. The cord has a black bead just above the silver tone jump ring, which adds stability and a cute accent.
